- Coletta Smith on 28th March 2010Room = 4, Service = 4, Facilities = 4, Location = 4Our family had a great time last week. The service was very good, very helpful with calling taxies. The only suggestions I would make are to get a few more umbrellas as they were usually used and more shade is needed. The other is that we really wanted to take a short snorkling trip but you boat was way too expensive. We had six people and would ve filled the boat but not at $450 each. Your food was wonderful. We often ate right there because it was the best on the beach. The kids loved the watermelon shakes.

- Moser Stefan on 11th March 2010Room = 3, Service = 5, Facilities = 4, Location = 4, Reservation = 4We enjoyed Moonhat alot!

- Stolzenberger on 14th March 2010Room = 4, Service = 3, Facilities = 5, Location = 5, Reservation = 5Die Moon hut Bungalows liegen sehr schön in einem tollen tropischen Garten.

- MAYER and ALARCON on 25th February 2010Room = 5, Service = 5, Facilities = 5, Location = 4, Reservation = 5GOOD HOTEL VERY PLEASANT ROOM ONLY THING NO GOOD MANY DOGS AT THE HOTEL AND ON THE BEACH AND SEA

- Henning Lamp`l on 04th March 2010Room = 3, Service = 4, Facilities = 3, Location = 5, Reservation = 5very nice staff, clean accommodation, very good restaurant. very well maintained resort. Unfortunately, too many families with children if you want to relax on the beach. nevertheless recommended.

- Fadi Bargot on 11th February 2010Room = 4, Service = 5, Facilities = 5, Location = 4, Reservation = 4Very relaxing hotel.Friendly staff,good food,nice and quiet beach.Will absolutly stay here again.

- Lars Brusell on 01st March 2010Room = 5, Service = 5, Facilities = 5, Location = 5, Reservation = 5We lived there for nine nights, in beachfront no 2. Location is very nice with 20 meters walk to the water. Rather coarse sand but OK. The pity is that you have to walk in sand everywhere from the bungalow. No walkways on stones or concrete to the restaurant or exit. There are friendly staff and food is tasty. The sea is rather muddy and not clean.

- Genevieve Collier on 16th January 2010Room = 4, Service = 4, Facilities = 4, Location = 5, Reservation = 4Yep moonhut was great! The seaview were already booked so we got the next level down, still pretty much right on the beach! Sand isn t powdery like chawang, but still okay to walk on. Food was nice, but if you walk west down the beach you ll get to a fairly lively area with a few independent places, and other hotels. We went for new year. Most of us went over to Had Rin, but those who stayed said Moonhut did a really good party. The owners were very helpful in arranging things for us. Our friend left her camera in her room and they have found it and are posting it back. Would def recommend if you want to be right on the beach. I would go again.

- Hellenkemper Kirsten on 06th February 2010Room = 4, Service = 5, Facilities = 5, Location = 4, Reservation = 5We stayed for three nights in a standard bungalow, very good value for money, clean and nice. Very good roomservice, nice bar at the beach, food has a good standard, but nothing special. Good massage, relaxed atmosphere, no crowded beach even in peak season. We definatly can recommend moonhut bungalows.

- Paul Birch on 04th March 2010Room = 4, Service = 3, Facilities = 3, Location = 4, Reservation = 3Good location away from the main tourist areas but with easy access. Room ok, but we were expecting hot water. If you re staying more than a few days, don t expect a room clean.

- Almo Geldenhuys on 08th September 2009Room = 4, Service = 3, Facilities = 3, Location = 4, Reservation = 5This was our 3rd visit in 4 years to Moonhuts-need we say more!Bungalows fairly basic but has all the needs you require, nice size, aircon etc.Clean and not smelly. Great facilities, good swimming and excellent massage ladies-ask for Kwan! We have done the whole island and considering it s proximity, close to all but away from the humdrum!15mins to Chaweng,Bangrak and close to Fishermans village and Big Buddha. Main meal prices have climbed to restaurant prices however basic fare remain reasonable and best of all is Happy hour which is from 5-7pm!!!Can t wait to go back, such a memorable experience!

- ALEXANDROS SAMPSON on 26th August 2009Room = 4, Service = 3, Facilities = 3, Location = 3, Reservation = 3on the beach bungalows. Far from chaweng, but they rent motorbikes.

- R. Robinson on 22nd August 2009Room = 3, Service = 4, Facilities = 4, Location = 5, Reservation = 3Moonhut was in a beautiful location, away from the busy east coast , and on the northern mae nam beach, beautiful clear sea to swim in morning , noon, and night. we stayed in bungalow no.2 which had AC which worked fine, the plumbing was a little poor, but didnt bother us. the restaurant had a large choice, and was basic but fresh and tasty, the staff were very friendly despite them looking tired a lot of the time. the massage centr on the beach run by KWAN a thai girl was superb and was visited by us every day. the views were excellent over the sea and towards koh pagn yan island - I would return to this location again ... for the price it was good value for money

- SCHNARR on 10th August 2009Room = 3, Service = 4, Facilities = 4, Location = 4, Reservation = 5nice, small Resort on a small, but very nice beach in the north of Ko Samui. (Maenam Beach) Restaurant is really nice and the stuff is very friendly. The food is excellent and cheap. The ambiente is very nice under palms an with a good view to Ko Phangan. The bungalows are clean and nice furnitured. Some of them stay directly at the beach. The resort is ca. 500m away from the street, so its quiet, but you can reach the shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. I would go there again. there is no Disco Live, like at the crouded Chaweng Beach. No problems at beach side with waterscooter.

- Adi Haliem on 27th July 2009Room = 3, Service = 2, Facilities = 3, Reservation = 5it was ok, not too special and not bad

- LMB on 22nd July 2009I stayed in the aircon room/bungalow for 4 nights. The room was acceptable but very basic. The bed was big and comfortable. Aircon was quiet and worked well. The bathroom was ok, however the water leaked from the bathroom into the closet area space that leads to the bedroom. I had to ask to have it mopped up each time after I took a shower (there is no shower cubicle in the bathroom - just the shower itself so the water goes over the floor). The staff were friendly but service not exceptional. One of the senior staff seemed quite moody compared to the others. Food & coffee were good - fresh and tasty. Personally I think it wasn t that cheap (for Thailand) given that this was a budget hotel option. It was right on the beach however which was a definite bonus. Friends stayed in the beachfront bungalow - these were much nicer and I would suggest staying in one of these if you can stretch your budget. [Also, check out Hutcha which is just 100m down the beach - same price point, but nicer quality with a pool, tho not quite on the beach itself.]

- Corry Ann Neilands on 15th May 2009Pretty nice place to stay for a quiet getaway. Only complaint is that the whole place shut down, no lights on, after 9pm so it wasn t a welcoming place to come back to at the end of the night. Great price on renting a motorbike so you get to explore the island!

- Leena on 18th March 2009Must say that our experience was not the best one...but not he worst one neither. We got a fan bungalow (550baht) which was very basic, which is ok but usually we get better quality for this amount... There were signs in the bunglaow that if you do this or that wrong we will charge you (e.g. harm towels, block the toilet..) which did not give very friendly impression, things could be said in more polite way. The mattress was very hard and the bungalow had lots of ants, they came to bed and walked over us during the night. The restaurant was very basic but very expensive compared to same quality elsewhere. Staff did not speak good English and we had some communication problems. But not all bad, the beach was nice and the people were smiling :)

- Charlotta on 16th March 2009Nice bungalow very close to the beach. The bungalow was simple but clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Perfect place to stay if you just want to relax by the beach, maybe have a drink and som nice food.

- faye dewhirst on 14th February 2009very close to very nice beach but a 10 min walk to the main street. Quite far from any other restaurants, but the one at the hotel was nice and there was a cocktail happy hour! Very nice, would stay there again
